That's a 'meritophile' justifying the poor performance of IIT alumni in the world of discovery (as pointed out here) - sad to know that the IITians suffer from the same kind of problems as the OBCs . But we know the OBCs' sense of deprivation is fake - because they lack only India class facilities!

why are you so very sure that they lack academic brilliance? achieving a mark or two below the general category, despite all the odds, does mean that they do have the potential..recognize it.

yes, i remember reading the write-up you quoted from. anyway, you're trying to say that the brand value of the iits/iims might be get damaged if they admit in 'reserved' students even if they are only a mark or two below the general category, right?
well, i don't think the government's original intention when building the iits/iims was to build world class brands- the original intention was to offer world class (or what it thought were world class) facilities/education to indian students.. and the iits/iims would still be fulfilling that original purpose even if they extended their facilities/services to obcs, who as you rightly observed also indians..(or have you changed your mind?)

This OBC Reservations is just a ploy by the Govt to sneek in the MUSLIM and CHRISTIAN reservations it wanted to get.
Dalits were shown green pastures for converting to Christianity and when the Priests failed to get the SC/ST tags for those "Dalit Christians", the OBC thing was propounded, so that these people don't convert back to Hinduism.
Remember this is not Other Backward Categories but Classes, so bingo - The Vatican has succedeed. This is a sinister ploy of churches and missionaries in India convert Hindu's tribal/rural and no other than Sonia Mano is helping these designs.

The UPA Govt is proposing to accord minority status to Jains (which are as of now clubbed up with Hindu's) - This is another nail in the coffin of our society.
Mr OBCVoice hope you see some logic in this simple Divide And Rule policy and get into act. Save this nation.
What do you say about reservations on ground of Economical status - EBC's rather tha OBC's? Don't such people merit a reservations?? or is it that only you have been opressed for 1000 years??

are you really aware of even the basic facts on this issue? the new quota proposes 27%(taking the total quota to 49.5%) for the obcs and not 49.5%. most indian school students know that by now.
yes, woh khud hi aa rahe hain: crudely put, to claim their share of seats in what are essentially government-owned institutions...
understand: being a frequent traveller doesn't make you the sole owner of the indian railways.
